Inquisitive. Indulgent. Independent. Inspirational.
We adhere to a model that provides subtle stages of learning that doesn't just care about the mind, but also takes into account the body and soul of a child. Our academic program doesn't have a distinct name, but is a hybrid of successful models that empower students in a whole new way. We have learned that a distinct change in a child's nature peeks through, when they are offered a wholesome environment that supports their learning styles, strengths, weaknesses, and personalities. Our unique system stems, not from a difference in curriculum, rather a manipulation of the instructional methods used in the classroom INQUISITIVE Our Pre-Learning Program (ages 3, 4 & 5) addresses children's inquisitive nature and sustains an environment that includes play, description, visual appeal, and is rich with literature. While this state of curiosity is supported on a continuum as students progress to higher grades, it is emphasized more so during this developmentally appropriate stage. INDULGENT The Early Childhood Program (1st – 3rd grade) focuses on students’ free will and personality development by offering tools for independence, collaboration, good citizenry, and self-awareness. Although teachers allow children to indulge from the Preschool years, it is facilitated at more length in this program. INDEPENDENT Throughout the Primary Program (4th – 6th grade) students become more and more engaged in academically challenging work. But for students to be heavily involved in planning, researching, reflecting, & synthesizing their ideas with the ideas of others to innovate, create, and come up with new and original work they need freedom. And that is the kind atmosphere the teaching facilitators offer. A natural phasing of independence occurs from the preschool years, but teachers become less restrictive with students at this level since they have reached a certainty in-terms of their personality and self-awareness. INSPIRATIONAL As our students and school will progress into higher levels of education we are hopeful about delivering a stage where students will inspire their younger peers and the community beyond our school. Well-equipped with confidence, knowledge, experience, humbleness, and seeking continuous learning opportunities, we envision Good Tree youth to speak with charisma and act upon what they believe and know. It’s a stage that we see a glimmer of everyday in our classrooms, is yet increase, but will be just as marked as the ones we see so far. As we mentioned our program has gone through a metamorphosis after reviewing and researching various methodologies such as: Maria’s Montessori Method Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligence’s Theory Dawud Tauhidi’s Tarbiyah Model For many its hard to believe that learning can be fun, but some-times you do have to see it to believe it. We encourage all to visit our school and gain from the perspective we use to make our students incredible leaders for tomorrow.
