Good Tree Academy Introduces Hifz Specialist

As the upcoming August 1st and 2nd Open House events near, Good Tree Academy welcomes aboard the latest addition to their teaching staff, Sr. Amal Hafiz, Hifz & Arabic Language Specialist. Originally from Cairo, Sister Amal brings a vast amount of knowledge in Qur’an, Qiraa and translation. When asked about what the hifz program should help students accomplish, Sister Amal acknowledges, “If we want to provide our students with prophet-like tarbiyah, we have to train them to memorize Allah’s word the way the companions did and understand it the way they understood it. Teach the Qur’an should be done in a way that it makes it easy for students to recall it in any life situation – a way that keeps it alive in their hearts for their entire life.”

With the school year starting in less than two weeks on August 10th, the Hifz and Arabic programs have become another promising aspect that will support successful learning for students at Good Tree. "Sr. Amal is a very impressive teacher. She has already developed a great synergy with the other teachers toward ensuring that Hifz, Tajweed, and Arabic will be taught in a way that connects them to each other and to every other subject. This will make learning these subjects more meaningful and naturally attractive to students," says Matthew Moes, Executive Director.

The community and prospective parents are invited to visit the school during its open house events (Saturday, August 1st from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. & Sunday, August 2nd from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.), meet Sister Amal and learn more about how the programs will benefit their child(ren). Parents are also encouraged to submit their child’s admission’s application at the Open House along with other required documents for the application process to be complete.

As the premiere project of the Yusuf Ziya Kavakci Institute, the administration at Good Tree wants to extend a hand to every community in the DFW area as a facilitator for Islamic education. “We look forward to seeing families at the Bangladeshi Family Day where we’ll be participating as exhibitors, Insha’Allah, following our Open House event on Saturday,” comments Annie Ghazi, Human Services Specialist at Good Tree. For more information about these events, Sister Amal Hafiz and other staff members please visit www.GoodTreeAcademy.org.
